Isn't that cushion sweet? I spent the better move of my knitting assort last night sewing the top closed. undergo I remarked before how lousy these particular skills are? Hopefully nobody ordain notice the sewing job only the prettiness of the cross-stitch. Don't tell anyone but I got it for.99 cents. I know it is rude to brag about what you pay on items but really. .99 cents? Mother would be angry. And like I needed more obsessions. Vintage tea towels. The one on the top left I actually had and always used as a doily. The morning glory one (just delightful) and the one on the far right bottom I purchased together on ebay. The Wednesday one I also purchased on ebay but separately and the top alter one I picked up for.50 cents at a contents sale a few weeks back.~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~ I undergo tried several times to leave a comment on your communicate but I think blogger comments are not working. Lovely communicate you have there and that quilt is simply scrumptious. Hey girlfriend aren't you supposed to create from raw material at a knitting group ahem?It is a nice cushion. You know I'm just teasing...

"Framed Marimekko tea towel." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 21:42:52

Oh a little detail from that I meant to alter say of…! I really love Jenni Tuominen’s and wanted to frame it for my kitchen but because the tell is so humongous (81″!!). I decided to buy the instead. Marimekko’s tea towels are large (18.5 x 27.5″) beautifully silkscreened and 100% linen. Perfect for framing! I machine-stiched black grosgrain ribbon around the edges to make a nice border (I miter-folded a hit length of ribbon as I sewed to ensure good corners) and popped the whole thing into a 19.75 x 27.5″ from IKEA. Done! Kat! I can’t knit. I can’t draw (at least not anymore after sitting in lie of a computer for 10 years). I can’t sing. I can’t control… I pretty useless really unless you need some mitered ribbon corners or a pot of vegetarian chili. Then I’m your girl. :) To miter a ribbon (or any kind of fabric binding) at the corner you first change surface it approve and straight (making a 45° change surface on the back) press it then fold it approve down and over itself and press again. That way you wind up with a fold 90° command and no excess fabric to cut away. To avoid having to actually use a measuring tape. I did this while the whole thing was IN the sewing machine — I just used my flatiron (for my hair!) to touch the ribbon when I got to the command. "K8 Tea Towels" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 00:40:57

More stylish gifts - K8 Telephone Box tea towels from. £12 the pair plus a brief history of the telecommunicate box by Gavin walk. (PDF). Bruce Martin’s K8 was the last red cast press telecommunicate box ever to be constructed in the UK. As such it represents the final stage in the lineage of a design that has become nothing short of a global icon a symbol of Britain. In the same manner that Gilbert Scott modernised his K2 for his 1936 K6 kiosk so Bruce Martin reworked Scott’s classic K6 ‘Jubilee’ kiosk for a new era – responding to the most complex brief ever issued for a piece of street furniture. Vandal-proof weather-proof and easy to keep– the K8 should have been the modern equivalent of the 1930’s K6. But when BT began de-commissioning boxes in 1984 – K8’s were the first in the firing line and at the measure were too young to be protected by English Heritage’s 30 year listing rule. - . Proceeds help the to preserve the phone boxes and develop the. I was their web administrator for a while and can confirm that they're doing a difficult job on a shoestring. Phone box fiends may also enjoy.
