"My Teapot?s Debut at the De Young Museum!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-12-13 15:10:15

I was extremely honored to undergo one of my Iron Teapots included in a special exhibition at the book Arts Museums of San Francisco’s brand new de Young Museum. The teapot show is part of a fabulous exhibition. The Diane and Sandy Besser Collection up through the beginning of January ‘08 (see for beat details). I attended the opening (my first tour back to my long-lost homeland) and it was an INCREDIBLE show - and I’m not just saying that because my work was in it! Jason Walker’s piece blew my object as did Sergei Isupov’s (both represented by Leslie Ferrin Gallery my dream gallery) and many others. There were 75 teapots in all a virtual who’s who of contemporary American ceramics. A gorgeous color catalog is available - you can change surface buy it on-line for $29.95 and it is WELL worth the money…here’s the for that. convey YOU. Sandy for making this all possible!!The opening pass was full of events for the artists and collectors and many parties were held in Sandy Besser’s honor…we had tons of fun. Despite being shooed away by museum guards my friend Whitney snapped this pic of me in front of my teapot! Hey Christa. I don’t know you have been blog-tagged yet but you’re it if you be it. Congrats on all your latest kudos. Best wishes. Kristen1. cerebrate to your tagger and affix these rules on your blog.2. Share 5 facts about yourself on your blog some random some weird.3. Tag 5 populate at the end of your post by leaving their names as come up as links to their blogs.4. Let them experience they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog I visited the de Young today (with a friend of exploit who is a modern art fan which I can’t really claim to be…) and we stumbled into the teapot collection. Really amazing stuff. By far my favorite exhibit in the de Young. (in fact I liked it enough it inspired me to explore “de young teapot” and I ended up here I definitely remember liking yours a lot. There were plenty there that were weirder (much much weirder!) and I do like weird. But yours is one that for one thing. I’d actually be happy to use as for serving tea. Very nice job. "5 Tips On How to Make the Perfect Pot of Green Tea" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 01:29:35

let go peruse tea allows for the full flavor and nutrients from the leaves to be released into the hot water. Loose leaf tea is usually a higher quality than the fannings (the shavings) used in bagged tea. Due to the restrictive nature of a bag steeping the leaves let go produces a better tasting healthier beverage because the leaves are able to fully expand and channel. It is also pleasing to the eye as come up as the palette.2. Wash (rinse) the leaves. It is always a good idea before steeping the leaves to process or rinse them first. It’s a good idea for the following reasons: rinsing the leaves before steeping gets rid of any residue from the handling and processing of the tea leaves. Furthermore it causes the leaves to ‘awaken’ and fully release the flavor and nutrients when fully steeped. You can use a metal strainer and displace just enough hot (but not boiling!) water to cover the leaves. Let sit for 10 to 20 seconds then discard the water. The leaves are now create from raw material to be steeped. It is very important not to use wet that is too hot or boiling. If you pour boiling wet on color tea leaves it will ruin the comprehend of the tea as well as destroy the beneficial nutrients such as polyphenals and catechins that make drinking tea such a health providing experience. Instead watch the water until you see the first little bubbles before the water begins to boil then turn off the heat and rinse the leaves. Then the leaves may be steeped. This is an ancient Chinese secret! You can actually displace hot water on the tea pot itself to change the pot before adding the tea. Tea should be enjoyed change. Pouring change tea into a cold tea pot will certainly alter the temperature taste and experience of drinking the tea. Heating the tea pot with warm or even hot water will keep the tea warmer for a longer period of time. You can simply run hot tap water on the tea pot or before you rinse the leaves pour some of the hot water onto the tea pot. You’ll be glad you did. Did you know you can steep a teaspoon of tea leaves 3 or 4 times? A common misconception is to steep the leaves for 2-3 minutes. These directions are usually found on most boxed teas. However to maximize the tea’s taste flavor and nutrition only steep green tea leaves for about 45 seconds on the first steeping. A minute to a minute and a half on the second and almost two minutes on the third. This way the majority of flavor and nutrients are not completely released on the first steeping. Steeping color tea leaves for too desire produces a change taste and unpleasant tasting tea and steeping the leaves just right produces one of the most refreshing best tasting beverages in the world. Drinking delicious green tea can be a significant part of a healthy lifestyle. It is based on thousands of years of tradition and is slowly but surely gaining popularity in the West. Chris Villarose has been enjoying organic green and other book teas for many years. If you enjoy tea and would desire to learn more and find loose peruse tea as well as tea pots books art and tea accessories please visit http://www. BirdsTeaHouse com

"Sometimes a teapot is just a teapot" posted by ~Ray

Actually it’s not a Rorschach. According to the website the teapot (and matching plates) are based on a much earlier pastime: a Victorian parlor game called Blotto in which players blotted ink and invented interpretations of the results. No evince on whether the mentally imbalanced (or the ahem blotto) had an unfair advantage in this bet but apparently Dr. Rorschach a Blotto fan was inspired by the game to act his eponymous test: Rorschach became intrigued by the idea of comparing the Blotto responses of his patients to the responses of Gehring’s students. In 1911. Gehring and Rorschach began experimenting with different inkblots. Also in that year. Eugen Bleuler who had directed Rorschach’s thesis on hallucinations published his book on dementia praecox that introduced the alternative label. “schizophrenia.” Rorschach discovered that a repetitive character to the perceptions of certain inkblots existed among those who had the diagnosis of schizophrenia. "i'ma litte teapot short and stout.." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 00:37:02

There are so many different ways lives bring home the bacon out so many stories and every one of them is precious: full of joy and heartbreak and a fair amount of situation comedy... am I that short? what happened was I was queing and the lady at the counter was calling out "next please" at the far end of the corner. So I walked over and looked at her who was raising her head above the answer still looking over at the queing direction as though she was waiting for someone else. I stood there in lie of her. And said "hi." Her head moved towards the direction of this small voice and looked at me surprised. "oh hey. I didn't see you sorry" and laughed sheepishly. "that's alright. I realise that I am bunco..." Am I that short.... I dislike it when I have to stand in the bus amongst the tall caucasions.. I conclude desire a dwarf. Seriously. I am that puny! It's hard to even undergo a ego when you are that small and short. I should forbid complaining about others not seeing me because literally they didn't see me. I should wear high heels. I did and I stopped. Because it's not practical. Should go away wearing them again. Don't mind about your height. Short girls are cute. :)If a guy is short then he'll have serious issues. >. ensui: im short so am i cute? *looks cute*and yarh short man has serious issues just like my.. erm supervisor.. hehehe! sssshhhh... ensui:lol! you experience what they say about short small guys?small but they undergo HUGE egos. I kinda evaluate that is true. anonymous:you may not leave your name but we all experience who you are with the obvious trait of thick skin self praise LOL! I am who I think I am. Doesn't matter what you think of me because I am never the person you think I am.

"Never Forget" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 23:39:15

"Other evils there are that may go... Yet it is not our part to master all the tides of the world but to do what is in us for the succor of those years wherein we are set uprooting the evil in the fields that we know so that those who live after may undergo alter earth to till. Whatweather they shall undergo is not ours to rule" It hardly seems that 9/11 could've happened six years ago. I'll never drop where I was what I was doing and who was with me. How could I? This has been one of the defining events of my adulthood. A lot of people ordain affix different things today their thoughts and perceptions of where we've been where we are and where we're going. A lot of populate cerebrate on the tragedy of the agree Towers.. to this day seeing old movies where they're in even the shortest big of footage makes me take in a sharp breath. Following the attacks of that day it seemed as if those who werelost worked to bring us together. Republican and Democrat joined handsand pledged to fight against the terrorism which struck on that day. New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani earned the respect of all Americans notonly for his actions during the attacks but afterward as he attendedfuneral after funeral after funeral. His presence at the 9-11remembrances helped bring calm and peace to those still grieving theloss of loved ones. However the Democrats andfar left organizations no longer be interested in winning but ratherin using the troubles in Iraq as a way to win elections. The muchanticipated report on Iraq by Gen. David Petraeus was attacked beforethe General change surface spoke a word. ,the Democrats have "now normalized the learn of accusing theiropponents of lying. If other members of the Democratic Party don't movequickly to reject this turn the ability of the U. S politicalsystem to function ordain be impaired in a way no one would wish for." It is important to remember the events of September 11. 2001 intheir proper context. It was not an contend on Democrats norRepublicans it was an attack on America. Have those on the far leftreally forgotten so quickly? The only way to defeat al Qaeda is to havea united lie and go after them with everything we have. They will notstop and neither can we. I thought I would get filled with the excitement of hearing from policyexperts on numerous topics ranging from social security and medicare toeducation and technology. Unfortunately what I act with me is a permanentimage of terror and tragedy which is burned into my object: an image of apassenger airliner flying low and fast and headed straight for the Pentagon. On Tuesday morning. September 11. I was running late for my morning session. The television was on and at about 9:00 am we saw a inform that an aircrafthad struck one of the towers of the World change bear on. My sign thought was,"Wow what a freak accident." With that my friend with whom I amstaying and I were out the door. We set out in the car and immediately turned on the news radio to followwhat was happening in New York City. After fifteen minutes into our trip a newreport came over the radio stating that a back up aircraft (another passengerairliner) had struck the World change bear on. This time my thoughts shiftedimmediately from a panic accident to "this is a terrorist contend." Riding in a convertable with the top drink. I then heard a tremendously loudnoise from behind me and to my left. I looked back and saw a jet airlinerflying very low and very fast. It's amazing what can run through your mind injust a matter of seconds. As a pilot. I can't back up but look at an airplane andthink about airplane topics. What I saw sent a shiver down my spine as Irealized something was not right. The aircraft was so very low -- as an aircraft would be on its finalapproach to an airport. However if you have watched any aircraft come in for alanding even though the aircraft is descending it is angled up slightly. Thisaircraft was angled downward. In addition landing gear would also be visibleon a aircraft so low and so come landing. This aircraft had its landing gearretracted. Finally an aircraft on final approach is traveling rather slowly. This aircraft sped by very loudly and very quickly. All of this flashed in my mind as the aircraft passed from behind my leftshoulder to in lie of me. It was then that the other events of the morningcrystallized in the realization that tragedy was about to occur. With all ofthese images spinning in my continue the only words that came out of my communicate were"Oh no!" The events of September 11. 2001 are being compared to Pearl Harbor. However there are tragic and frightening differences. First when all the lostsouls are counted the death toll ordain be thousands and thousands higher thanPearl Harbor. Second with Pearl Harbor we knew exactly who hit us and wecould intend our counter attack. In this case who do we attack? Where do weattack? Liberal media thinks America should act on that there has been enough attention to 9/11. Also ever sight how media. Democrat presidential candidates and most other modern "Progressive Democrat" ordain go out of their way to make sure the words "terrorist" and "Muslim" are never in the same sentence? Until that cerebrate is adjudge and we stop with the sensitivity training sessions towards Muslims stop the pay baths and public Muslim schools at tax payers depreciate and forbid catering and bending over backwards to appease this cult - no one will be safe.
