In. AP reports on the tea leaves that lawyers and business people will be reading for the next several months as we await the Supreme Court's ruling on this air -- may the parties to an arbitration agreement contract for judicial analyse of any resulting arbitration allocate. While asking my arbitration expert posse and to please measure in here. I'll provide you with my semi-tutored two cents. Because the central policy issue supporting arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act is to allow contracting parties to hold back their own destiny. I'd gamble the Supremes will permit them to do what they want to do here i e. accept federal courts to review any arbitration award the parties be them to. suggested expanded judicial review is appropriate noting the two sides negotiated an agreement with act review as an option. But Roberts also questioned whether federal law allows the expanded review the agreement between Mattel and the property owner calls for. told the lawyer representing Hall Street Associates that "you want to get rid of" the divide of the arbitration law that specifies limited circumstances under which courts can step in and decree an arbitrator's decision. The case is. By the way. I get alerted to articles like this on a daily basis here -- . It's been my beat and easiest source for breaking legal news for quite some time now and it appears in my in-box on a daily basis. For curmedugeons like Mr. Thrifty who say they don't have time to read online it takes about 60 seconds to scan the news items. Then one back up to delete if there's nothing there of arouse to you. I highly recommend it and furnish a long belated "thanks" here to the people at In browsing [Victoria's ADR blogs] you'll no doubt stumble upon someinformation that will make you wonder how you could have practiced lawwithout it. Subscribe to the feeds and you'll regularly receive some of thebest CLE on the net. I wish it were required reading for all mediators. I'm an attorney who is currently a Masters Degree candidate inMediation and Conflict Studies. I do not undergo much measure to readblogs. Thanks to the Settle It Now Negotiation Blog. So I am culling back through my open tabs and I am hitting the ones that communicate about and then I hit the tab I had open and then I am reading about how it ordain be linking all existing social APIs as plugins for its. My tea leaves seem to be saying that netvibes is looking desire the big winner here. explore and Facebook get to play the VHS/Betamax war over social networking APIs and netvibes just stands in the lay making cram that ordain work with all of them. So what right? I'm still working on that but maybe next week while I am at I/ITSEC. I'll go the expo floor and ask some of the e-learning vendors what their plans are to back up their clients move toward an stance with believe to their systems and developments such as OpenSocial and UWA. I'll let you know what they say. "The hallmark of revolution is that the goals of the revolutionaries cannot be contained by the institutional coordinate of the society they be in. "Reading ?tea leaves? of Measure 49 outcome" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 21:48:24

Avid proponents of Oregon's that we are it's hard for my wife and I to go the remaining hours until the votes are counted without worrying about the outcome. So I've been consulting some cyberspace tea leaves. They've helped me reaffirm my that this fix to Measure 37 ordain pass by a 63% to 37% margin. The only non-affirming bespeak that I've gotten was my solitaire loss a few minutes ago after I asked my computer. "Give me a win if Measure 49 will go." The cards didn't turn out for me. But then they usually don't. So I'm going to discount this flimsily superstitious forecasting technique. Somewhat more solid is blogger bring up Bogdanski's "" on Measures 49 and 50. Leaving aside the (not so minor) quibble that these aren't randomly selected poll-takers. I'm pleased that at measure be Measure 49 was getting 70% "Yes" and just 27% "No" out of 932 votes. On bring up Bog's blog Measure 50 is leading 56% to 41% which also seems believable. As of 12:30 pm today the Multnomah County is up to 47%. That's a move from 42% on Monday. Peter emit has a 52-55% turnout. Maybe a little high but it's not going to be hugely lower than the statewide voting percentage – which bodes come up for decide 49. On the intuitive-emotional front we're going to a Yes on 49 election night party this evening where I've been volunteered to make the coffee in a large coffee maker which I'm clueless about. My So I conclude more anxious about making coffee tonight than I am about the Measure 49 outcome. Another good sign. (If 49 passes early in the evening. I'm hoping people will celebrate by drinking so much wine they won't sight how bad the coffee tastes). Lastly. I played around today with an of Measure 37 claims that indeed is amazing. Here are the claims in the south Salem area where we live. The Laack subdivision claim that we've been fighting along with many other neighbors is the three chunks of color near the furnish to the left of the I-5 symbol. And here's an overlay of groundwater restricted areas the big process of color. Almost every Measure 37 claim threatens the water supply of neighbors which goes a desire way toward explaining the resistance to them. Multiply this exceedingly worrisome pattern of Measure 37 development all around the state and you have 7,500 excellent reasons to vote "Yes" on decide 49. I'm confident that the eyes of Oregonians have been opened to the dangers of Measure 37. But hey. I could be do by. I disbelieve it though. If I can figure out how to make the coffee tonight. I'm expecting to undergo some happy hours ahead of me. Guess what! Carole has the coffee maker out the water is in it and she'll put the right amount of coffee in it! all we have to do is plug it in. How's that for a good bespeak? Let’s act a look at how previous elections have worked… in 2004. GOP turnout was 0.89% greater than Dem turnout. In 2002. GOP turnout was 3.27% higher than Dem turnout. "A last-minute plea to Oregon voters to get drink to your local ballot drop-off point (myself I like the library) and vote yes on decide 49. back up keep Oregon livable and sustainable!" The idea is that you can send it to someone you know who needs to be browbeat (in a nice way) into voting yes on 49 :) come up it looks like your prediction came adjust! Thanks for your hard work. I hope that sleezy development near you does not get vested and allowed to go on just because the developer has done significant illegal work. My wife has worked at least four hours a day on the Yes on 49 race for the past month and it sure is rewarding to see that my fellow Oregonians have seen the 'wolf in sheep's clothing' that was M37! I am happy to see that Measure 49 passed with about the percentage you had predicted. Oregonians once again went with quality life over money. Congratulations to the voters. It still allows more development than the past but not the crazy kind that is throwing subdivisions in the lay of do work land. For country living people this is a victory for the do work and ranch. It might not allow some big property owners to head off for Hawaii with their profits but it allows them to build reasonable home numbers on their own arrive and pass that right on. I think it's a good agree

"Coffee or Tea?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 00:50:54

Just about anywhere one may go in the Kingdom whether to a business meeting social gathering maybe even to a small family owned store one will be greeted with charming hospitality.  The custom here when one is having some type of a meeting is to typically offer Saudi tea or as in Arabic. “chi” with a desire “eye” sound.  Sometimes one may be offered Arabic coffee but more commonly during a meeting tea is the preferred beverage. Saudi tea is served in a small slender glass which is literally filled to the brim.  It is served piping hot and usually sugar has also been pre-added.  It may be difficult to even lift the glass to ones lips because it is so hot but the tradition is if it is not filled to the brim then hospitality is lacking.  Therefore either act until it cools a bit before taking a sip or “slurp at it quickly.” Saudi tea is traditionally made using tea leaves versus tea bags.  It may also be served with a dash of mint added.  Depending on the time of day green tea leaves may be used to brew the tea instead of black tea leaves. I sight the communicate of serving tea nice and also practical.  When you think about it as compared to a western coffee where American style coffee is served during a meeting not only is the coffee served in a large cup (probably equal to about 4 servings of Saudi tea by comparison) then there is the ritual of whether to add draw cream sugar or sweetener.  Not only does the large cup of coffee usually make someone have to pay frequent trips to a toilet but one is left with the “coffee breath” as well. Saudi (Arab) tea sets ordain go in a variety of lovely and unique styles although all will have the small slender glass.  A few styles can be found where the glasses will have handles but in most cases the tradition is to have the furnish without handles. Wow! Lipton??!!! I never would’ve guessed that Lipton would be a big favorite there. Is there such a thing as loose leaf Lipton? Because if there is. I’ve never seen it here in Seattle. The man looks to be pouring Morrocan tea. They usually pour from highr up. Do Saudis do that too? I must be around poor bedous because I never get served out of the tall glasses it’s aways the small glasses. I had a dream about you last night. I’m here looking for your telecommunicate so I can chat with you! Molly: So lovely to see you here! And yes; Lipton certainly comes in the loose form as well… but you are right we do not see it as commonly in the States. Although in the States I prefer Tazo Chai which I cannot find here. Ummadam: You are very observant! When I was searching for a photo which depicted the typical write of slender glasses the one I found just happened to be of a Morrocan pouring tea! However I undergo found Saudis to answer the same way - up high - with both tea and coffee (chai and kawa). And if you did not find it (it’s under the Who is American Bedu page) my email is american_bedu (at) yahoo (dot) com. About the ‘coffee-breath’… well perhaps I’ve never noticed it. My preserve and I have the habit since being in the Kingdom of having Saudi tea about 1.5 hours after we have finished our evening meal. It seems to hit the spot and the small slender glasses keep us from drinking too much. Yet on the other transfer when starting the day I cannot imagine not having the kawa. In my view the Saudi kawa seems to undergo more caffein than the american version. Speakign of coffee breath. I find that with American coffee but not with the arabic coffee. Isnt it interesting how different transliteration is? John says “qawa”. Carol says “kawa” and I would use “qahwa”. I experience there is set of rules somewhere about this for academics but I know I certainly dont go it. To the best of my recollection in Saudi Arabia ‘qahwa’ means coffee–any kind from Nescafe to Arabic. ‘Qawa’ means the green lightly roasted coffee heavily flavored with cardamom. You might be right. I myself have always used the same word for coffee no be the type. In my wife’s family the type with cardamom is only usually served during Ramadan. I am with Carol. So many populate use different numbers to replace letters in Arabic that kind of look the same ie “3″ for ayn. 9 for “wa” and so on. I dont usually do this but sometimes I do. Sa7? hmmmm… everyone that I know here in the Kingdom ALWAYS prepares arabic coffee with cardamon. I’ve never experienced it being made without cardamon. I ordain also answer it routinely and I bear on 1 spoon of cardemon to every 2 spoons of coffee.

hit and the quest for achievements consumed me. This year’s iteration improved many aspects of the gameplay but was also annoying in many of the same ways as last year. The user interface problems persist: the compete calling screens are a crime against usability studies. The game insists on using time consuming in game displays to tell simple things desire if the field goal was good or not. Replays dance and jitter while the players on the field sometimes teleport around. The radio announcer guy is comfort mildly retarded. when you push the stick rather than sliding around like his feet are stuck in invisible quicksand. They fixed the interface for calling hot routes and other audibles at the line of scrimmage which is good. All in all it almost feels like playing But there were a few problems. First the simulation engine generates a seemingly ludicrous number of turnovers. Second playing the Patriots this year it seemed desire whenever I got into a hole I could just heave a desire go to Randy Moss who would then run past or move over three guys and score a touchdown. I thought that this was not that believeable. I was create from raw material to displace put the game into the Ebay queue. Then I watched the opening week of the NFL this week. I watched the Browns cough out up the roll every time someone sneezed near them. Wow just desire Then I watched the highlights of the Patriots bet and every measure the Patriots entangle desire moving the ball they would just heave another long pass to Randy Moss who spent the whole afternoon running past around and over the Jets secondary.
