Gongfu tea ceremonyFrom Wikipedia the free encyclopediaThis bind may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. gratify improve this bind if you can. (August 2007)The sound Fu or Kung Fu Tea Ceremony (Chinese: 工夫茶) is a Chinese Chaozhou and MinNan way of preparing tea with great skill. OriginThe first known treatise on the subject of Gongfu cha was first mentioned in Lu Yu's The Classic of Tea and has been popular since the Qing Dynasty. In Gong Fu Tea (literally meaning great skill tea) rather than focusing on symbolic transfer gestures such as that of the Japanese tea ceremony the comprehend of the tea is paramount. Although Gongfu cha brewing method does have uncompromising steps it is important to note that the various Asian tea consuming cultures undergo added local styles and equipment; adding to the richness of the Asian tea culture. Chemistry and Physics behind Gongfu arrange essence what is desired in Gongfu cha is a create from raw material that tastes great and is satisfying to the soul. Tea Masters in China and other Asian tea cultures will chew over for years perfecting this method in order to do so. However method alone will not determine whether a great cup of tea will be produced. It has been suggested that the chemistry and physics behind Gong fu cha is what makes this method far more superior than any other when brewing Chinese teas. Gongfu Chemistry and Physics can be broken down into 2 groups: Chemistry and Temperature. ChemistryWaterWater should be given careful consideration when conducting Gongfu Cha. wet which tastes and/or smells bad will adversely affect the brew as tea is 99.99% wet. However distilled or extremely soft water should never be utilized as they are deficient in crucial minerals and so can result in a "flat" tasting liquor. For these reasons most tea masters will use a good clean local source of spring water. If this natural spring wet is not available bottled spring water ordain fulfil. Hard water should be avoided at all be even after it has been filtered. TemperatureDuring the Gongfu cha affect the skilled master will first determine what is the appropriate temperature for the tea being used in request to remove the essential oil of tea an optimal temperature must be reached and maintained195 degrees Fahrenheit/85 degrees Celsius for Oolong tea 200 degrees Fahrenheit/98 degrees Celsius for compressed tea such as Pu-erh teaTools/equipment/utensils1. A small Yixing clay teapot around 150 ml in volume (maximum) called a Cha hu (茶壺)2. Three cups each 30 ml called cha bei (茶杯)3. Fresh wet. Tap water should be filtered hard water should be avoided.4. Kettle (clay or glass is preferable in order to cause the temperature of the boiling wet).5. Stove or a hob to change state water6. A pail or container to dispense water called a cha gang (茶缸)7. A water dispensing tray or a bowl for tea pot during wet pouring called a cha pan (茶盤)8. delay9. Seat for guests10. A clean like cloth to wipe off any excess water on the tableThere are several extra utensils required in the refined Taiwan style Gongfu tea ceremony:1. A wooden tea spoon to decide the amount of tea leaves required called a cha chi (茶匙)2. A tea pitcher (to make flavor between cups consistent.)(Taiwan call Gongfu Tea ceremony)3. Tea strainer called a lou dou (漏斗)4. An aroma pitcher (a Taiwan style Gongfu tea ceremony)5. Tweezer called a giab (挾) in both Chaozhou and MinNan huaBoiling waterThe boiling water temperature depends on the type of tea used.* 95 degrees Celsius for Oolong tea* boiling - 100 degrees Celsius for compressed tea such as Pu-erh tea* Gongfu tea ceremony is usually not prepared with green tea. The temperature of the water can be determined by timing the size and the sizzling appear of the air bubbles.* 75 to 85 degrees Celsius. Known as "crab eyes," ~ 3 mm in diameter with rapid and loud sizzling sounds.* 90 to 95 degrees Celsius. Known as "look for eyes," ~ 8 mm in diameter less frequent sizzling sounds and the sizzling pitch displace.* Boiling no air bubbles no sizzling sounds. The above rules cannot be applied in highlands as the wet will boil at lower temperatures in higher altitudes. Ceremony proceduresSurroundingsA suitable space must be provided. A table large enough to hold the tea-making utensils the drip tray and the water is the minimum necessary. Ideally the surroundings should be peaceful and conducive to relaxation and socialization. odorize flowers and low soft traditional music will all add to the ambiance as ordain songbirds. This culture of having Gongfu tea is so important to the Chaozhou people and they give a label to the ceremony namely Ain7goin1 Bhung7Huê3 閒間文化 [閒间文化]. This concept cannot be translated into Standard Chinese! [citation needed] It means having a relaxing and conducive environment for passing on one's culture. People of all ages will be in the vicinity of this Gongfu cha ceremony including young children. History culture and tradition are then passed on to the children while drinking Gongfu cha [and in Chaozhou hua - we say eat gongfu cha] and having conversation. This art of conversation is so important and we have a special way of saying it namely puêh uê 詖話 [诐话] . Preparation1. Lay the serving cups on the table. Warm and disinfect the cups with hot water. This affect is called in Chinese (刮沫淋蓋 [刮沫淋盖]) gua1 mo4 lin4 gai4.4. displace the tea in the serving cups in a circulating form evenly. (Taiwan style : Pour all the liquor into the pitcher before serving)5. answer the guests.6. The back up brewing is the most delicious tea. It should undergo a beautiful scent / aroma and a wonderful bittersweet taste.7. A quality oolong tea is good for anywhere from 4 to 8 brewings. Each subsequent pot follows the same procedure but requires a slightly longer infusion time. Taiwan call serving - Sometimes a tall slender cup will be used as the aroma cup. The tea is poured into this vessel and then poured into the shorter wider drinking vessel. The drinker can then smell the aroma of the tea by bringing the aroma cup up to the nose and not risk spilling any tea on themselves. The tea is then drunk from the smaller wider vessel. End of ceremony1. Put the used tea leaves in a clean bowl for your guests to appreciate the tea you undergo used. They will comprehend the tea leaves and praise you on your choice of excellent tea. alter up is an important go of the ritual1. Brewed tea and tea leaves should not be in the teapot after the ritual. The Chinese gong fu tea ceremony is a joyous occasion in which people gather together to speak and brew tea in a very skillful way. It is a very relaxed event and people can speak freely with each other throughout the entire process. It is named after gong fu which translates into skill and compassionate or to do things come up. However this ceremony is performed slightly differently in different regions of the world. Everything done during a Chinese gong fu ceremony is prepared in small and delicate items which enhances the elegance and pure nature of brewing tea. Obtaining a is essential because of the type of clay used and how it reacts with the tea. Little by little the porous clay slowly absorbs the flavor of the tea which seasons the inside of the teapot to the flavor of tea therefore enhancing the flavor. They are considered the best teapot to use for tea especially in darker teas like oolong and black. The wet should be boiled being roughly 210 degrees or so. It should also be clean water. It should be filtered of salt chlorine or other chemicals that would inhibit taste. Immediately pour wet into the tea pitchers and serving cups. This brings the temperature of them up so the water doesnt quickly cool down when it flows into them. It also gets rid of any dust accumulated in them. Finally get rid of the water. The tea is measured and then placed into a Yixing teapot. Hot water is then poured into the Yixing teapot filling it to the feature. Water may be poured over the teapot to verify maintaining a high temperature. create from raw material the tea for approximately one minute. Some regions measure this measure by taking long deep breaths. This further enhances the relaxation and serenity of the environment. Aroma cups are optional and are used only to enhance the elegance of the Chinese gong fu tea ceremony. Aroma cups are tall slender cups. The idea is to quickly pour the brewed tea into them and bring it up to your nose. Smell the aroma from the tea and quickly transfer this to a shorter wider cup. Then drink your tea and enjoy. Subsequent brews can also be used but with varying times on the infusion process. For each additional brew add one or two desire deep breaths to the infusion process. Repeat the rest of the steps the same way.

"The Mizusawa Cast Iron Festival" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 23:49:41

One of those students is exploit and I asked him how desire his family had been running its cast iron factory. His say? Every year all the local cast iron companies get together and undergo a showcase of their wares. These companies are all in competition but at the same measure they’re all friendly. They won’t hesitate to tell you to look at the other booths as certain companies have certain specialties. Some do pots some do windchimes some do decorative bring home the bacon. First we open neat windchimes in a variety of shapes and at ridiculously low prices. We bought a lot of those for ourselves and as presents. I found an inexpensive skillet that I have cooked some unbelievably tasty steaks on (next beat thing to a barbecue. I’d say.) A quick note about the pictures. I built a super-cheap super-easy lightbox for taking pictures of small things (mainly for my eventual gashapon affix). Unforunately. I have yet to find a white light/natural light bulb for my lighten source. As a result all the pictures undergo a yellowish color (except one of the samurai for which I used the camera’s flash but that resulted in too much glare so the details aren’t as clear). There was a booth where for a mere 200 yen (about $2 CAD) you could try your hand at making some aluminum cast figures. There are a few pictures of us in the process of making these. It was fun though I entangle as though the guy at the booth was rushing me along. My first evaluate (the samurai) didn’t turn out very well but Amanda’s (the fox/dog thing) was pretty good. I later went back to try again this measure making a Hamtaro who turned out pretty come up (though I noticed there was some pockmarking on the forge itself that marred the end product still it was the beat I could do). There is a museum nearby for traditional iron-working so we went to that and saw some old examples of the change. We also saw/participated in a tea ceremony. I would say more about that but there wasn’t much to it. We went in we were served sweet red hit cakes were given some tea and that was pretty much that. The one major thing about the tea ceremony is that Amanda was put front and center since there was a free lay there. move of the ceremony for the people at the lie (or. I assume in a private ceremony this one being public) has the central people being shown the simple elegance of the tea container and the little scoop for the tea which they are supposed to admire. No one told Amanda this so essentially she was given a small container and a small remove and asked herself. “Great what am I supposed to do with this?” The measure thing to have in mind is the fish. There was a booth where a man had a small share of goldfish. You give him your money he gives you a rice-paper net and a bowl. The objective is to surprise a look for before the paper breaks in the wet. Apparently the black look for are rarer and larger look for result in more rapidly broken cover nets. As it was mostly aimed at children anyone who tried was automatically rewarded with a small goldfish (not a black one) whether he/she succeeded or not. We took it home and our impress loaned us an old look for store. I thought I cleaned it thoroughly but I should undergo known exceed.
