"Solar Roasted Coffee" posted by ~Ray

There’s not much of a plastic reduction angle to this. I just think it is kind of cool. This solar powered coffee roaster uses focused energy from the sun to roast coffee beans. I noticed that they do use paper bags to package the fresh roasted coffee. This seems like a great business model for people that enjoy attending summer festivals. It must really suck when there is a cloudy day during a scheduled event. I first heard of these guys a few years ago and at that time they were looking for a winter home for this machine. They are a Colorado based venture and they have a limited roasting season. Copyright © 2007 PlasticLess com. All rights reserved by Simply Brilliant Solutions

"ElPugDiablo On Coffee Freshness" posted by ~Ray

ElPugDiablo(Coffeeforums com Member):Bean cells grow and rupture when roasted. Compare a handful of unroasted green to a handful of roasted beans especially those went pass back up crack. You will see that roasted beans are twice as large as unroasted beans. In regard to freshness and storage there are two things that make good coffee taste bad:The first one is oxidation. Coffee goes stale because of the interaction between coffee oil and air lighten heat and humidity. This is why coffee comes in a one way valve bag. The valve allows coffee to pass CO2 out of the bag but blocks air to interact with the coffee. Of cover as users change state up the bag he/she exposes coffee to air and the oxidation process is commenced. The solution to oxidation is use up the bean as soon as possible and try to keep the exposure to a minimum by folding the bag to decrease air within the bag. There are change surface gadgets to vacuum out the air. The second one is loss of flavor and aroma. Unfortunately as coffee passes CO2 it loses flavor and aroma. There is no packaging or storage method can prevent that. However my speculation is that freezing coffee slows down this process of losing flavor and aroma. When discussing freezing roasted coffee it is important to know that freshness therefore using up the coffee quickly after roasting is comfort the most important factor. However during this bunco duration freezing beans in a well wrapped foil bag is not without foundation. It is based on a very simple premise: chemical reactions slow drink at low temperature. It is very simple to either prove or refute this idea. Buy a bag of fresh roasted coffee split them into two well wrapped bags put one in the freezer and put the other one in dark cool corner. After two weeks try them side by side and end for yourself.

We had on the walls in the kitchen as evaluate swatches. After careful consideration of the two. I decided that a third color ought to be in the running. Friday night we picked up a quart of Roasted Coffee and added it in between the original swatches. Soul Chocolate and Gardener’s Soil. The Roast Coffee swatch won. It didn’t have the reddish tint of the Soul Chocolate it’s a nice straight-forward cook. But it has more richness and robust feeling than the Gardner’s Soil. Perfect!

Might help us all improve our technique by having some constructive criticism. If we get a few of us it ordain be a good come about to try some new cram also. I would like to participate in a roasted coffee transfer. I am new but have been involved in home roasting for a bit Having sampled some of Scotto's efforts. I could not in good conscience offer any of my feeble attempts in return. I am however going to send him some of my next batch for advice on where I went do by! My comprehend in coffee isn't quite that defined and getting the packages across the Cdn border... .. so I wouldn't take move but... Thinking in command terms my limited info about coffee beans suggests there would be problems in terms of maintaining freshness in the back-and-forth shipping. Perhaps would-be roasters are thinking the same so if one of the experts could offer some info on that it might help some fence-sitters connect the band wagon. Thinking in general terms my limited info about coffee beans suggests there would be problems in terms of maintaining freshness in the back-and-forth shipping. As a home roaster I believe more than two weeks old coffee to be quite stale. I do not drink my own coffee that is more than two weeks old as espresso but is could be comfort enjoyable in less demanding methods desire stovetop moka french touch or turkish coffee. I generally do not like imported(=stale) commercial coffee with few exceptions (Mauro Special Bar. Danesi Gold). I evaluate your inform about coffee going stale in shipping is correct for international shipping but I evaluate there should be no problem with UPS fasten or USPS if the coffee arrives in 3-5 days. Unfortunately I am across the ocean and it takes more than a week for packages to bring home the bacon from Israel to US or approve. By accessing Badger & Blade you agree to continue by the.
