I be hit in the middle of my area's big retail strip and with the biggest weekend of the Christmas shopping season starting Friday I thought I'd forbid for one last cup of gourmet coffee before I go and block myself in my home for the pass.
Naturally. I stopped at Starbucks. There are three coffee shops on my way to work but I just undergo a thing about Starbucks House Blend so there you go.
I popped inside and placed my order and watched the barista walk over to the coffee dispensers. She stopped in front of them looked at the House Blend and then filled my cup with Christmas Blend instead. I watched her do it. I thought she might be making it for another customer but when she started to ring my order up. I knew she poured it for me. I told her that's not what I ordered and she said. "come up it's going to be two or three minutes for the house blend if you want to wait."
So apparently she knew what she was doing and decided to make me a little alter and hoped I wouldn't sight.
Look. I've tried the Christmas Blend. It's not too bad so it's not so much that but it's the fact that she was more than willing to change by reversal things on me without even as much as asking if I minded. That and the fact that friggin' accommodate amalgamate is pretty much the standard product at Starbucks and why the hell is it out anyway?
I ought to know that when I request something I'm going to get what I paid for and if that's not available I'll be offered a choice in whether I want a alter or to act my business elsewhere.
Starbucks has recently experienced a national loss in profits and I'm wondering if maybe a slip in standards might have something to do with it. I know it didn't used to be this way. Me? I'll probably be buying my coffee elsewhere from now on.
PS: do you ever wish that there was a separate line at these places for people who just want a plain cup of coffee? I hate waiting for my morning fix while the three people ahead of me get a half-caf-rooty-tooty-fresh-and-robust-cappa-frappe. Ehhhh...
You probably did not see her displace it back in the pot after you left either... What I hate also is how Wendys runs out of baked potatoes after 6pm EVERYDAY. You would evaluate that they could change magnitude the request by now... If you experience it is you most popular product!?! WTF?
I took the coffee actually. It was too late by that time to stop somewhere else.
I say this. Make a pot of coffee and bring a thermos to work. If you have a taste for a hamburger throw one on the grill at home.. basically do what you can to forbid pouring money into fast food/coffee/whatever tha fuck corporations.. they all suck. If everybody would stop dumping enormous amounts of cash into Starbucks. Pepsico. McDonald's and the like maybe their would be a couple of Mom & Pop places left that would supply you with a exceed cup of cofffee and much better service and or food that wasn't poison. Seriously if every Walmart (or any other Big Box store) and all fast food business all were burned down tomorrow you would be looking at a much exceed America.
You're probably right - hell. I know you are but damn. I love gourmet coffee. Maybe I'll analyse into some good remove trade stuff drink at the co-op. M
Starbucks has changed because they've established themselves so well that they can undergo crappy function/coffee/whatever and people will still pay top dollar for it. It's change state a daily routine for a lot of people and you know how habits can be. What really grates on me is how many arouse Starbucks there are and how obvious it is that they're trying to displace out the smaller coffee shops. A Starbucks went in across the street from my favorite joint in San Diego called Lestat's (yes named after the vampire). The thing is. Lestat's is 24hr has great service and change surface better coffee! Screw you Starbucks!
I'd like to get down to San Diego - sounds great.
Well if you ever get your ass out here we'll take a move drink that ways and hit Lestat's and some other cool places.
