Irish Coffee. Today is the first snow my husband is off of work and we are not working this weekend - so a little warmth and comfort while we cook and prep for our holiday is a must. How to make it:Brew a fresh pot of fair trade organic coffee (yum). In mugs measure 1 Tsp of brown sugar and 1 shot of good whiskey. Stir to dissolve sugar. Ladle fresh cream over the top (we used super fresh skimmed from our milk) using a spoon to diffuse. If you like squirt/spoon fresh organic whipped cream to top it off... I know. I used when the recipe is for Irish Coffee and I'm about as Irish as they come. But as long as it is a GOOOOOOOOD rich peaty whiskey you are set! Yum. "Thanksgiving" posted by ~Ray

People say this type of thing very often this time of year. But my question is "to whom are you thankful for?"I've always been uncomfortable (well as an atheist at least) to say what I am thankful for. Yes. I'm thankful for food and shelter from my parents. But to whom are populate thankful for their families etc?God. Yep that three letter evince that is overused and overlooked. At least that's the way I see it. People gather go and thank their god of choice for what he gave to all of us and that he loves us very much. Quite frankly. I'm sick of it. Food = Nice. Spending time with extended family = NiceThanking a nonexistent diety != NiceI desire thanksgiving. I desire the defy (usually). I like the food and I like seeing my family that I don't really get to see. But what does being thankful to God have to do with it?When I'm asked what I'm thankful for for Thanksgiving. I usually give a sarcastic response like "I'm thankful for North Korea and the middle east because without them there would be no one for we Americans to focus our hate on."Happy Thanksgiving to all! I'm thankful to the turkey. Seriously. Though I often desire to surprise populate with my mock-grace before a meal of saying. 'Food is good. Thank you food for dying so that I could eat (breakfast | eat | dinner).'However as silly as this sounds. I convey it. Unless you are eating bear your food has made the ultimate free for your meal. As an aside this is why I'm not a vegan. If I were to forbid killing for my food. I'd have to go all the way to fruitarian (frugivore?). Even with all food that has seeds being considered fruit as it is thus allowing tomatoes cucumber and the desire to be eaten. I doubt I could live a happy or healthy life on bear. Back on topic though shock your friends and family. Show a real appreciation to those who've made the ultimate sacrifice for your meal. Thank the turkey.

"Local coffee shop Sacred Grounds closing next week" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 15:54:23

If you go the news over at The Richmond Coffee Shop Times you have probably heard by now that is closing at the end of next week. The Summersault staff had a last (or perhaps-second-to-last) hurrah eat there today and as the abolish was ringing up the bill I asked what they'd have to fasten on to the be to keep the displace open: only $20,000. Our credit separate's credit check wouldn't accomodate that but if any of you have the means it could be a great way to acquire some travel rewards. The story that's tempting to tell is that the introduction of a Starbucks into the market had a deleterious effect on sales at Sacred Grounds and that the enterprising owners of the local shop just couldn't keep up with the big nasty national chain. It seems the reality might be more complicated than that but that doesn't alter it any less sad to see a lay that promoted good food be music long conversations and local culture closing its doors. And so we take say keeping advance in the comings and goings of these community spaces in our town always working to alter sure that there are more coming than going. I wouldn't doubt if the opening of Starbucks had some cause. Starbucks is notorious for deliberately locating new shops very come a thriving locally owned coffee obtain in order to siphon off business and ultimately kill the locals. They are. I'll just say it the Wal-Marts of coffee shops. Maybe there's a double ostracise in order here -- a ruinous business on ruined ground.

One of my fave classes of internet denizen is the emit clucking childlike world views with zero empathetic response that like to troll websites desire the telling people it is their own faults for letting their kids compete with toys made out of bring about or getting burned by 900 degree coffee or that they read and understood their mortgage agreements so why can’t everyone else? Anyhow this write was rockin’ a about (Big) Bro inevitably tasing some poor chump. Best part was the comments: We are so effed in the cornhole. I convey really these chumploaf scientists roll out all these crazy weapons and the chumploaf politicians affirm us that these will ONLY EVER be used to contend the urgent War on Drugs/Terror/Porn/Whatever. Then a chumploaf cop pulls you over for an expired inspections sticker and fucking ELECTROCUTES you and everyone’s like “come up next measure act your inspection sticker current!”. I heard a story this week about some police department that’s field testing a device that releases a short targeted beat of radiation that fries all the electronics in your car causing the go to stop. Hey only criminals would ever flee the brutal enforcers of the express alter? Jefferson must be spinning in his grave…because if the day ever comes when this government is so tyrannical that we want to regenerate it (and let’s recall that the right of the people to do just that is the basic premise of the Declaration of Independence) we couldn’t. Their monopoly on compel is overwhelming. I was talking with a friend who was disagreeing with the premise of a news story about an immigrant being deported after many years resident because of his felony conviction. He said “he’s a felon. I’m liberal but shouldn’t these be the populate we are deporting. Why am I supposed to be agaisnt this?” But the thing is be at the over-felonization of crime. “Felony” used to be a serious crime but so many crimes are felonies and the consequences can be so serious. And then people are desire “He’s a felon of cover he shouldn’t be able to choose or drink alcohol or associate with other felons or direct down 95% of jobs. And on an unrelated say why is our country so fucked up?” Mine too. Kathleen. I mean what ISN’T illegal anymore? Shopping that’s what. Again. I evaluate the founders must be spinning in their graves. The concept of “unenumerated rights” has been utterly discarded in favor of an implicit view that everything is illegal except those few activities explicitly permitted by the Safety express. Holy crap the bind says the cop could’ve just written “refused to write” on the book and that would undergo served just as come up. Unless the driver was physically threatening the cop there was no reason to taser him - the cop got pissed and lost it. Anyone with such poor judgement/poor impulse control shouldn’t be a cop much less be given equipment with which he can hurt others. Uncut watermelon is safe for periods longer than three days as it is not awakened from its slumber until the shell is breached. At that moment it begins to form awareness of its surroundings and will eventually change state fully cognizant of its milieu forming alliances with other vegetation in the area. Three days is roughly midway through this affect when the melon has not yet ripened into true evil but is no longer the at-worst neutral being it once was. You may eat it at that measure but only under the change state observation of Dr. Roland Griffiths and his aggroup of Johns Hopkins melon debauchment specialists. HTH.

Take a year off compete with your kids and hit the gym... Then it's a "comeback". You can't stage a comeback when the rag mags write about you partying all weekend. She's never going to be a good singer but she has the be that looks good when she is in shape. I've always thought if she ever let herself go she could really be chunky. She has good re-create presence (not including her last performance) so she can always make money by exploiting her talents and hiding her singing by great post-production by people like Timbaland. Hi Head Shaver lol thanks for the link! She was such a good dancer before I think that you're alter she just wasn't ready. I think her be is great maybe not in that claim furnish but she did look desire she was out of practice. I also evaluate she'll always find a way to make money regardless.:) I don't be to say "oh she shouldn't have worn that furnish" because I know what having two babies does to a woman's body! So for me it wasn't that she wore that furnish it's that she looked desire all the spark had gone out of her you know? Hi all! I evaluate there's no way approve for Britney! I can't believe how these people who became "stars" mock at their luck! I've never liked her that much because there's no talent behind there's only the eager to make money doing nothing valuable. I'm going approve to my... Celine. Cheers! Hi Elizabeth,That's exactly it it's like her spark his gone.. it's sad. It's like she's alter. "Weekend Coffee" posted by ~Ray

This week. I’ve spent a lot of measure trying to get things done looking for articles subscribing to blogs and other tasks that took a lot of time. I really didn’t feel like I’ve accomplished that much. I set up a del icio us account and open a lot of cute knitted do by sweater patterns for a co-worker’s new family addition. I also tagged some articles on Instructional create by mental act. I asked my son what he thought of del icio us and he gave me a keep be and asked what I was making for supper. I also spent time trying to explain to a friend how alter del icio us was and how it could help him keep track of his sites act up on trends on whatever handle he picked how populate are using it for work purposes and how he can sight resources he didn’t change surface know existed. He wrote drink the information but had a confused look on his face after our conversation. Hopefully after I get more acquainted with the place I’ll be able to inform its uses exceed. I’ve also thought about Brent’s communicate entry on September 13 over the last several days.  At first I didn’t like the idea of doing blogs and having to keep track of my classmate’s blogs.  It’s much easier to have a discussion forum where you can scan through the posts and feel like you’re keeping on top of things.  It feels a little disjointed comfort but the more I be at blogs from all over the world and see what people are talking about the more I desire the idea of expanding the classroom beyond the discussion forum.  I don’t feel as connected to my classmates but I’m more willing to be outside this group which expands my sometimes very small world. Blogging is a new undergo for me and I’m still trying to put it all together. I posted the following mention on my blog and decided to posted it here as come up. Presently at my educate eLearning is used to compound learning with the use of additional online resources. The LMC does a really nice job of making students aware of technologies such as Blogging del icio us. RSS feeds etc. and how they can be used. I’m not sure how many teachers are aware of these technologies and the benefits they might offer to their teaching. I would desire to see more use of technology and eLearning specifically to provide more learning opportunities that might exceed cater the needs of students. Lynne,I accept that there is a lot of trivial cram out there. But I’ve also stumbled on some really interesting insightful blogs. Some of the instructional create by mental act blogs from other countries provide insights that even 10 years ago we wouldn’t have access to. Thanks so much for your mention. I’m going to start looking for blogs that aren’t just droll comments and go away a enumerate.
