Hi. I'm just enquring whether anyone on here has recently started their own small business in ED or nearby? Or thinking about it at the moment??I undergo been thinking about this for a while now and a bit fed up working for someone else. So thought I'm 31 now if I don't do something soon when will i do it. I undergo a flat which I ordain be selling and might move back to the folks (I know. 31 and living approve at home) but it's an idea. Any way just wanted to converse with others for discuss please. Thanksdulwichflower
overlap your idea. From the close friends who have done it or are doing it I anticipate it is not easy will probably consume all your time and needs to be done right. However if you are willing to commit then you should go for it. I don't think there's much else that comes change state to the thrill of a go that does well. What are you thinking?Charlie
Hi Charlie,I evaluate whats daunting is going it alone. But it's something I've wanted to do for a while now. I've got a few ideas change surface though Lordship Lane is so pricey might have to think about nearby to Dulwich. So how about you is this something you're looking into for yourself? how's it going?Dulwichflower
I ran my own fitness & martial arts centre in Elephant & Castle in the 90's and it was hard bring home the bacon without a furnish. My ex-husband helped but needed to be told what to do which was draining. It was successful but I sold after 4 years because I was exhausted. The main advice I would give you is get a business partner. (not a bf or hubby) who has skills that praise yours. Keep your overheads drink as low as possible for the first bring together of years even if that means doing everything yourself or paying less for e g sign writing students etc. I got my write writing done remove in transfer for free fitness classes for a year. Think laterally (unless you undergo loads of dough of cover!) to get what you be. Go on a simple business course - I did one run by some populate called URBED and it was free. They were very inspiring. Rope as many friends and family in at the beginning as you can and alter sure you undergo give for when you need a break. Also try not to be a control panic (that was the hardest thing for me!) and learn to delegate. wish all that might be useful!![]Edited 1 time(s). Dulwich Flower - I convey many of us have had the same thought at some point or otherThere was a guy who posted for a little while on here called Jamie who was canvassing people about a business he was starting up - he got some good feedback and started up but he then pretty much dissapeared (probably never got another moment to himself) He didn't specify which business it was so I can't say how it's doing/didIf you go for it beat of luckAnd excellent advice as come up CWALD
Thanks guys for your advice. come up I'm comfort thinking about it. I don't know how much longer I can work in NHS and conclude that i'm motivated to try something new. ordain see how it goes. I undergo a few things to be into got to get my flat on the market too. Speak again soonDulwichflorwer

If you be around at some local successes they are not about a good idea more about using an existing formula and getting it right. Blue Mountain coffee shop is just a coffee obtain selling coffee and cakes but everything about it is done come up (IMO). The Bishop is a pub like any other but it has got all the elements right (IMO). A good business is not necessarily about doing anything revolutionary or different. It just needs to go all the boxes in the eye of the customer. Charlie

Hi DulwichflowerCan I offer some simple advice (thats what I do. I own my own business consultancy). Ask yourself what you are willing to suffer if it all goes do by. Ask yourself what it is you want to gain by starting a business how much do you be to acquire and how much measure do you want to be.
